This file contains speeches by Dr. George W. Gore, Jr., delivered to a wide range of educational organizations and institutional audiences, including national, regional, and state educational associations, professional conferences, and Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU)–related events. Materials document Gore’s addresses to organizations such as the American Teachers Association, National Education Association, Florida Academy of Sciences, and other educational and administrative bodies, as well as speeches presented at FAMU alumni gatherings, budget meetings, commencements, and convocations. Of particular note are multiple copies of the opening convocation address titled “The FAMU Image,” delivered on September 20, 1961. The materials in this file date from 1950 to 1971 and are arranged alphabetically by organization or subject title and chronologically within each grouping.
