Description
Box 13 contains materials from the Rosewood Massacre Collection dating from 1994–1995 and is arranged by subject and record type. The folders primarily consist of administrative files, survivor affidavits, and materials related to the Rosewood Family Scholarship program.
This box includes folders such as Admin Files: Rosewood Survivor Affidavits A–D; Survivor Affidavits Sets A–D (multiple sets); Survivor Affidavits W (Sets 1 and 2); and Rosewood Scholarships (1994–1995).
Records found within these folders include, but are not limited to, Rosewood survivor affidavits; non-survivor acknowledgements; research notes; legislative materials such as Rosewood Legislation Section Four; handwritten correspondence and notes; fax cover sheets and transmittal forms; scholarship applications; family certification statements; Florida Department of Education memoranda; and correspondence between individuals such as Gregory Durden, Robert Butterworth, Stephen Hanlon, Guy Robinson, and members of the State Board of Education.
Collectively, these materials document both the evidentiary submissions used to support Rosewood claims and the administrative processes surrounding compensation-related programs, including the development and distribution of educational scholarships for descendants of Rosewood survivors.
