The folders primarily consist of individual claim files and genealogical materials documenting the Rosewood Claims Bill process and lineage verification.
This box includes files for individuals and families such as Bennett, Arritha; Baxter, Jon; Baxter, Ebony; Baxter, Susan; Anderson, Ronald Jr.; Anderson, Debra; Anderson, Aika Nicole; Allen, Ernestine/Robert; Black, Lewis J.; Black, Gregory G.; Berrien, Rodney; Berrien, Roma; Berrien, Lamount; Berrien, Henry; and Moore, Kathy; Moore, Vickie; Maxwell, Ailabron D.; Maxwell, Louis James; May, Dee Dee; May, Eugenia; Mickles, Cortrell, as well as family genealogy files including Coleman, Hayward & Sarah Carrier, Raleigh Bradley, John Wesley Bradley, and George & Maggie Bradley.
Records found within these folders include, but are not limited to, correspondence between claimants and representatives such as Robert A. Butterworth, Gregory Durden, and Frank M. Beisler; Rosewood Claims Bill checklists, notes, and claims information forms; property affidavits; family trees and handwritten genealogy charts; obituaries; non-survivor acknowledgements; handwritten notes; envelopes; and supporting documentation used to establish lineage and eligibility for compensation.
